Chernobylite - Out on PC and Consoles.

Recommended Posts

Haha, brilliant!

I'm taking this in small doses, I'll do a days exploration and then leave it alone for the rest of that day. I've not had any big scares yet but the time in the zone, sneaking around, having stuff happen, not being sure if Tatiana is going to make some kind of appearance, or the Chernobylite monster things or how heavily guarded an area is leaves me feeling quite fatigued

So....anyone bought this on a console? I'm assuming not seeing as I'm the last to post in here. Eneba has it for about £14 and it's tempting but I need to know how it runs on console.

Keep us updated if you decide to buy it because I'm interested too! I'm currently playing Sam's Story DLC in Metro Exodus on my Series X. And it looks beautiful, is great, but it's also *extremely* Stalkerish. Which makes me want to play more Stalkerish things.

Going OT here but if you want to play STALKER have a search for STALKER: Anomoly on mod.db (work blocks anything gaming-related). Stand-alone totally free modded-up STALKER with more of everything, rolls together the maps from the official games so it's much bigger, more missions, more items, new campaign.

Edit: https://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-anomaly

Thanks for this, been considering a replay for ages and this seems like the ideal way to do it.

From what they’re saying on the reddit sub it’s currently a bit wobbly. PS4/5 in particular had a bug which deleted your saves pretty far into the game. Though it’s apparently now been patched, people are still wary.

Going back to Stalker, as mentioned previously in the thread, Avalanche Reviews on YouTube has done a couple of retrospective videos on the first two Stalker games, each around an hour long. He’s extremely passionate about them, makes me want to play them more!

Let's hope Stalker 2 turns out okay, eh? Meanwhile apart from the game we're discussing in this very thread, I recommend anyone looking for a new Stalker-like experience to pick up Metro Exodus if you haven't already. Not because of the main game however (although I love the main game, only the second area is Stalkerish), but because of the 'Sam's Story' DLC. I'm currently playing through that and it really is the Metro devs doing a Stalker. It's *very* Stalkery. Highly recommended, I'm having a blast. It's surprisingly long for a DLC campaign too - although that might be just me, sloowly and carefully exploring every nook and cranny. The atmosphere is off the charts oppressive and all-round brilliant.

Half price on Xbox this week, making it £12.49. That's well into take a punt territory. I've still not seen much on it at all though.

I really enjoyed it myself. It definitely can be bit janky, but it's good fun and properly creepy in places.

So there's an hour's trial. I got through the intro, got past the guards and now I'm stood with Ippy and Dippy with the Geiger counter out. And I can't do anything else. I presume I have to enter the sewer bit can't. Either I'm being spectacularly dim or it's bugged out. My question is this: should I just sack this off an okay Metro 2033 instead?

HEART YOU.

Anyway it's supposed to trigger Ippy and Dippy to open the sewer grate when you do the dialog for the Geiger to and it doesn't, so fuck that. If it's busted that early I'm not paying 20 quid for it. Metro 2033 it is.

As you were.
