They're not gonna show the box. :(

I suspect you are correct.

Fast hard drive though.

They've not exactly gone for the entertaining Nintendo Direct approach have they. It's like something from Starship Troopers. I keep expecting him to stop and say "Do you want to know more?" :D

The digital Foundry piece is already up in case you haven't fallen asleep yet.

I'm not really seeing the game changer here, it's just an SSD and the same software features (HTRF audio) that Microsoft demoed.

Hopefully it's cheaper

I'm actually finding this fascinating. It is what it is folks, a tech talk aimed at developers / tech interested fans. The hype and shizzle reels will come later.

They’re just getting the dull stuff out the way right?

The secret sauce seems to be the Boost. No idea if he's selling smoke, though.

I’ve given up, will watch a round up later - if they’re not even going to show the box itself or any games, and we have the specs, then what’s the point.

No. this is all going to be dull stuff. THis is the GDC reveal, it;s not really for people that just want to see the box and the games.

It;s quite interesting in explaining the Sony approach. I mean they had me at PS5, but quite interesting to see the thought process behind it.

So, in summary, it's about 20% slower than the Series X. Which is what we all expected, I guess.

I don't think 20% is going to be transformative, but we will see. Interesting to see the form factor and cooling solution they come up with, when they finally pull their finger out and reveal it.

And then coronavirus changed everything.

What happened then grand-dad?

I watched a man cosplaying as a K-pop star softly talk about hard drive speeds for an hour.

Why?

Because everything had changed.

So it is only 9.2tf but boosted to get the higher number.

Always thought it would be less powerful, but it's quite a bit off the new Xbox.

That's kind of what developing for mobile is like, having to limit how high you're clocked or for how long for power consumption. That works for short pick up and play stuff where the phone can cool down in between, no idea how that works for typical console monster sessions, feels like a bit of a bodge to reduce the TF delta between the two.

But how many bits does it have!? I need to know if it’ll be more powerful than a Sega dreamcast or not.
