We can whine about the fact that there’s no review scores.

Yeah, and it got a recap last month in light of Battle Royale taking off.

I didn’t know I wanted to read an article on the effect of GDPR until games until this morning.

Not clear if FT are as hyped about RotR as Edge were.

What's the coincidence?

Laser League was hyped in certain circles as the next big thing in online gaming. Already as good as dead, isn’t it? As unfortunate as this score makes that.

Don't have the issue yet but do you mean Jade Raymond? If not, who is Jade Redmond?

Edge on Detroit: "The writer wields allegory with a similar grace and lightness of touch to which Leatherface uses power tools".

Nice cover btw. I hope Starlink is fun, we need more space games.

Detroit receiving 5/10 is ridiculous, it deserves more purely for its ambition and innovation. Edge continue their tradition of clueless and pretentious reviewers.

Have you read their review?

Nope, I don't believe it's freely available online? I don't wish to give them money, worst video game magazine out there.

Kind of important if you're going to criticise their review to actually have read it first I would have thought.

Being ambitious and innovate is great if those ambitions are well realised.

And no it's not freely available online. Someone worked hard to write it and it's what makes Edge different.

What did you find innovative about Detroit ?

I mean I enjoyed it . And it’s probably a solid 7 for me , but it’s not doing anything particularly innovative .

Credit for its ambition and innovation is basically the driving theme of the review and the attached full-page editorial.

I sometimes think Edge keeps scores as a way of filtering out people who wouldn’t be up to reading something as challenging as a mixed review of a video game.

The number of possible outcomes due to your choices, and the story was very well told. The game was polished from a visual perspective too, it sets a new benchmark for presentation.

Yeah the review says all this too.

Goodness sake.

Why did it receive a low 5/10 then? According to this edition some Destiny 2 DLC and a pinball game were both superior.

Why don't you read it and find out? Although considering how awful you think Edge is I'm surprised you care either way about their review.

Multiple endings is now “innovative” in a narrative based videogame?!

None of that is innovation,  it’s just an expansion of an existing concept .

The only thing that could be considered innovative is the flowchart system . But that’s effectively a fancy report card , not a gameplay innovation .
