Star Wars Resistance - Dave Filoni's next animation

Recommended Posts

So this is what Dave Filoni is doing after Clone Wars and Rebels. It is set prior to The Force Awakens and will follow Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot recruited by the Resistance and tasked with a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order.

Seemingly dropping the CG of the prior shows and going for an anime-inspired look. The article says it will feature BB-8, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron and Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's guest appearances rather than regular. It's coming in autumn.

Looks beautiful, but the main character seems like a bit of an annoying cunt.

So was Ahsoka and look how that turned out.  Looks stunning and I have absolute faith in Dave Filoni.

Taking bets on how long before Ahsoka, Ezra, Sabine and Thrawn turn up.

EDIT: Turns out Dave FIloni isn't actually doing this, he's there but not day to day as he's working on Clone Wars and something else.

The first three episodes of this are now ‘available’.

Just watched the first two so far and they’re perfectly enjoyable. About as good as Rebels was when it first started and that turned into something great.

Its on Disney XD starting this Saturday in the UK.

As per usual, Disney have scheduled it to be aired about a dozen times per episode but have neglected to allow it to be series linked.

Three in, and it’s very ‘kid friendly’ with lots of pratfalls and gurning. The stories are very thin. Doesn’t help the main character is an utter knob, and the good/evil mentors are the two worst characters in the TFA/TLJ (Phasma/Poe).

But it is lovely to look at.
