Dang, Packers are having a training day here. Saints have got nothing. Is this replacement QB from UCLA their long term plan for Rogers' retirement?

He says, only catching the first Q and a bit, but then coming back and seeing the final score

Didn't get to watch the Cowboys destroy the 49ers :( It was on Fox, but my Fox wasn't showing it and I couldn't see it online for streaming on Fox Sports. Bloody useless. Maybe only local Fox stations got it.

Can’t belive how bad the Giants are this season. It promised to be a good season after adding Marshall and Engram to compliment Beckham and Shepard and keeping last seasons defence together. I think Coach McAdoo might get 1 more season but wouldn’t be surprised if they fire him come February.

It's weird, isn't it? The loss of OBJ, Shepherd and Marshall hasn't helped

Browns now at 0-7 with our rookie QB getting worse every week and players breaking curfews and being sent home too. Also, after 10,300 consecutive snaps Joe Thomas went down this weekend with an injury that looks set to end his season. What a mess. It's so frustrating that it's beginning to ruin my enjoyment of the sport.

As such, I am considering adopting a second team to cheer on to give me something positive out of some weekends. Team I was thinking of is already picked...

The Giants have been bad even the few games Beckham and Marshall have played. The problem is the offensive line’s awful and gives Manning zero protection. Think it’s between us, 49’ers and the Browns for number 1 draft pick next year so should be able to get a decent running back or offensive linesman!

The Giants will end up with Saquon Barkley, I am sure of it. He's looking like a generational talent at RB :). 49'ers and us have reasonably decent options available at running back and are more likely to take a QB.

That said, you guys definitely need to upgrade from Ereck Flowers... not sure of any can't miss LT prospects this year though.

Yeah Barkley from Penn State is who i’m hoping for, no need to draft a QB as Manning has a few years left yet and they drafted Davis Webb in Round 3 this year. Not sure why they don’t move Flowers to Left Guard as that’s where he played at college.

Whats happened to the Browns this year? Thought they were going to do better this year after the draft.

A tricky question  - just about everything?

The majority reason - for me at least - is Hue Jackson not getting in an offensive co-coordinator and trying to call the offense himself. It hasn't worked - lots of questionable calls when we have been in scoring position, a lot of it putting the emphasis on Kizer to make tight throws across the middle which is his weak point. We've basically thrown the guy into a situation where no-one respects our run game and expects us to pass, and what makes that even worse is that our only 'decent' (if you can use such a word on a player with such limited sample size) receiver (Corey Coleman) got injured again and is missing most of the season. Everyone else is either a cast-off (Britt, Coates) or a practice squad player. Kizer's 21, and needed easing in. He is capable of making great throws and is a threat on the run, but we never play to those strengths. Now his confidence is shot.

It's baffling on both sides of the ball, as mirroring the Kizer situation we have Jabrill Peppers, who is an athletic freak who is a capable linebacker, continually standing about 40 yards off the line of scrimmage playing the 'last resort' safety role in case Gregg Williams' coverage gets busted open... which it does. A lot. As with Kizer, rather than question the player's talent I question whether we drafted the wrong player for the way we were intending to use them.

There are positives. Myles Garrett is as advertised and has 4 sacks from 3 games (two on a limited snap count) and David Njoku looks a real threat. Duke Johnson is a really good dual-threat back. Sadly, we just keep making mistakes at the worst possible time, and it kills us. We could have beaten the Steelers, and arguably should have beaten the Colts, Jets and Titans. Bad playcalling and mistakes have meant we won none, and now the rot has set in and confidence is gone.

It's a bit of a mess. If I were Jimmy Haslam right now I'd say to Hue Jackson 'Get an offensive HC or you're out'.

The Joe Thomas thing on Sunday was just sad. The Browns have often been a completely clown car of a team for decades now, but for the last ten years we've always had Joe Thomas there at LT. Always. Never missed a snap. He was the only real thing we could be proud of, and he seems like an excellent guy. Seeing him lying on the field in agony yesterday was like seeing a giant oak tree you'd always admired get felled.

Oh, and seeing Joe Haden in a Steelers jersey. Ouch :(

Makes me think the eventual Super Bowl winner isn’t going to be a great side*, just the one that coped best with pressure.

So probably the Pats again :(

*Pats have been great, but this isn’t their best side by a long stretch imo.

That was the joke ;)

Aye, nasty hit, no excuses for that one.

It was a nasty hit, but not a dirty one. Flacco slid late and left himself exposed. I don't think Alonso intentionally went head hunting, but it was still a vicious hit. You could tell Flacco was concussed immediately.
