I made an undead hunter this morning and just logged off with him at level 35 with about 6 hours played. I've been levelling him in Mists, because like @George Clooney I love it. Jade Forest alone took me from level 10 - 30, and I'm halfway through Valley of the Four Winds at 35.

I like Krasarang Wilds and Kun Lai summit, but always felt Townlong Steppes and especially Dread Wastes weren't as good.

I’m back on after like 6 years and playing through the Battle for Azeroth stuff. Enjoying it so far, seems a LOT quicker. So can I just do level 50 dungeons now and get scaled up? And where do I go to switch expansions if I want to level somewhere else?

If you go to Stormwind you'll find Chromie (or Org for the Horde) and she'll give you the quest.  You'll see her marked on the Map as an hourglass.

I like the changes to levelling mostly.  I leveled a Dark Iron Dwarf recently and while it wasnt super slow, it still felt a bit weird that I'd have to go to zones where the story had moved way past, so themeatically the idea that Chromie is presenting it to you as experiencing the past makes sense, and being able to just play through 1 period is great for alts.

And agree about the last 2 zones in Mists.  I think its because themeatically, it switches from exploring this new land of wonder where theres a load of peacefull moments and helping the natives, to going in fairly hard to set up the story about the Klaxxi, their connection to Y'sraaj, and this idea of the continual cycle of war.

Also for new people, definitely play through Drustvar in the new zones if you like spooky atmospheres.  Its easily my fave of the new zones.

Also, when do I get flying? And do I have to buy it again for each expansion? Some stuff is pretty opaque with this amount of content. Professions I haven’t even tried to look at yet as I can see that being confusing as fuck.

flyings at 30, it unlocks for all the expansions except BFA currently, believe that changes on the release of shadowlands.

each profession for each expansion is like it’s own seperarate sub section now and you can make items that you use when crafting to determine the level of the item. So you can go through Wrath and make level appropriate gear just in wrath content without needing to go and learn stuff from a separate one. You then learn the current levels at around level 45 onwards which work as normal, ish.

It isn't opaque at all. You literally get quests telling you you can upgrade your riding skills at 10, 30 and 40.

Professions are now broken down per expansion and each has its own skill. You can safely skip them all up until the current expansion as you don't need to level old ones to access the new ones these days, they're all self contained.

What server are you on mate?  And are you horde or alliance?

Found them as soon as I bothered to go back to Org for the first time in 20 levels :)

Loving the levelling rework with each level giving something new, much better this way.

Earthen Ring Horde, which I am sorting of regretting now as the server seems pretty dead. It's clustered with quite a few others so areas are busy enough but not from my actual server.

I'm still on ER, you're welcome to join my guild. It's mostly full of old players from vanilla times. We'll be raiding in Shadowlands (Heroic and Mythic) if you fancy that. Contact Kabuto or Korruk when you're online or use the in game thingy to apply to Praetoria Imperialis and put 'rllmuk' in your note.

I'm still playing and still enjoying it. Whats the difference between just going through the portal to do the Pandoria stuff and doing Chromietime to do it? I didn't quite get that.

  1. When Shadowlands comes out will that be a whole new area starting at Level 60?
  2. Any druid tips? First time I've played as one. With the specialisms, are you kind of supposed to stick with one or are you supposed to switch between them depending on what you're doing? I am trying to master the Feral Cat specialism at the moment.
