Couldn't find another thread on this (did a quick search though so feel free to merge) so thought I might start one... One of the shortcomings of the GT series over the years is the sound however it's looking good this time as some focus seems to have been put into this! http://uk.ign.com/articles/2017/06/28/gran-turismo-sport-creator-kazunori-yamauchi-talks-sound-steering-wheels-and-shifting-gears-ign-first Sounding very impressive so far...

Looks utterly amazing: It's got a little bits of Super Meat Boy, VVVVV, N++, Escape Goat, and of course Towerfall movement set and midair dash. Single player platformer adventures are still probably my favourite genre, and from the amount I played the single player challenges in Towerfall I trust that this will be another title to look out for. Release later this year.

One thing I noticed, it appears to show a user streaming picture-in-picture, showing their gameplay AND their face via the new camera at the same time. Don't think they've mentioned that yet Is it wrong that I'm most excited about hearing the startup sound for the first time?! It looks quite a lot like big picture mode too. 9. Haven't read about this at all on here... and thought if true it deserved a thread all of its own... From Eurogamer.... PlayStation 4 VR headset finally coming at GDC - report Sony's virtual reality bet just weeks from announce. By Tom Phillips Published Friday, 21 February 2014 Sony's PlayStation 4 virtual reality headset will finally be unveiled next month at GDC 2014, a new report suggests. TechRadar reports that the anticipated VR device will be formally announced at the San Francisco conference next month, which begins 17th March. Like the Oculus Rift headset, the virtual reality visor will wrap a pair of screens onto the wearer's head. But, unlike Oculus, Sony is expected to have perfected the technology to a degree that multiple versions of the hardware won't need to be released. "Sony has deliberately taken its time to tweak and polish the headset before revealing it," a source said. "People will definitely be impressed with what Sony's built." Eurogamer broke news of the headset last September, when we learnt that it had originally been destined for a reveal at Gamescom 2013. Its unveiling there was pulled, and its appearance delayed into 2014 - a moment that now sounds on the horizon. When quizzed about the device last year, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida simply said: "We don't talk about that."
  10. Wow. They're actually making a sequel. The first one is incredible but lacked multi-player, which this sequel has. It's Minecraft X Dragon Quest, basically, with a mission based structure, loads of quests, single or party combat and lots of buildings, weapons, food and other items to craft and use. It's such a good fit for Switch portability too. Now features gliding: (Check out the gliding gif! https://mobile.twitter.com/Wario64/status/894030969086164992/photo/1) And underwater exploration:

    Yakuza 0

I know there is a general Yakuza megathread, but I thought a Yakuza PS4 game that a lot of people thought would never leave Japan is coming out this month and if that doesn't deserve its own thread - what does. Disclaimer - I'm primarily making this thread because I think it is great Sega/Sony (not sure who exactly is involved in the decision) take a fairly low selling series like this and still decide to bring it to the west. I'm actually a terrible Yakuza fan - I own all five games, but by the time I got into the series my PS2 was too much faf to use and I still haven't got around to playing 3,4 and 5. I know - I SUCK. I have put about 10-15 hours into the first one and loved it, so I'm looking forward to getting stuck in. The question is, is 0 a good place to start? I know it is a prequel so technically it is the start but just wondering if not having played the others, a lot of the history might be lost! Anyway links and shit. Support this game - I'll likely buy it around launch even though I might not play it for ages because IT DESERVES IT! http://yakuza.sega.com/yakuza0/ https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/yakuza-0-ps4/

  13. Release: 28th April 2017 Formats: PS4, Switch Price: £24.99 (PS4) £34.99 (Switch) What is Puyo Puyo? What is Tetris? Really? You know this! So what is Puyo Puyo Tetris? Gameplay Why should I get this? Puyo Puyo Tetris is quite simply the best competitive puzzle game on the market. The mashup works really well to create some really interesting modes, but even if that isn't for you, then you can play straight up Puyo vs and Tetris vs. Or even simple traditional single player Tetris and basic Puyo. Both Tetris and Puyo are the very best in the puzzler field and they work just as well together as they do individually. There is a simplicity to the games, but as the cliche saying goes. Simple to play, difficult to master. You only truly understand the skill levels involved when you take on other players. Much like the fighting game scene. Don't be put off though, as it is a lot more inviting than that genre and you can compete as you improve. The game was previously released in Japan only on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox 360 but only physically, due to some odd licensing laws. This Western release is only on Switch and PS4 unfortunately, however on the Switch the game is available digitally for the first time. I implore you to get this, not just because it is great, but it might mean we start to see further releases of Puyo titles in the west and maybe even a resurgence of the likes of Super Puzzle Fighter and other games influenced by Puyo and Tetris. 14. The above trailer is pretty... Surprised there hasn't been any interest in this title on here, given the popularity of the Zero Escape series. Written and directed by Kotaro Uchikoshi, it's basically the Jennifer Lopez film 'The Cell', in game form. You play a detective who solves crimes by entering the dreams of others. And like that film, it's pretty grisly. Outside of the trailer, I've been pretty much on blackout for this. It looks right up my street and I'll be day one on its release on July 26th.

    Planet Alpha

Picked this up on Switch. It looks pretty bad on TV mode (playing on a 4k set admittedly) but better - if basic - on handheld. Gameplay is pretty basic. I guess I was hoping for a Inside/Limbo with Sci Fi sort of thing but no such luck. The music is quite atmospheric but maybe as I’m playing it on Switch I don’t get the same sense of awe that I got from the trailers. Frame rate chugs on a few occasions though nothing too serious. Some bits (I’m an hour or so in) are quite creepy and scary but as the checkpoints are so generous there’s no real feeling of tension or fear. I’m disappointed as I was looking forward to this.
  16. Thought this deserved its own topic as it's getting rather good reviews and is out tomorrow. It's a several hours long walking simulator, which seems like the perfect antidote to the lengthy epics we've been getting over the past few months. The hook of the game seems to be a more morbid Gone Home. You play as a girl returning to her family home and exploring the rooms of her now long-dead relatives. So far, so derivative. But what sets it apart is that you play as a participant in each family member's death via flashbacks. While most reviews have wisely steered clear of spoiling too much, these are meant to be extremely diverse (in terms of both presentation and tone), imaginative and often very sad. It's from The Unfinished Swan devs and although there aren't tons of reviews out yet, the ones that are look really promising. It's out tomorrow for £15.99, but if you preorder it on PSN today and are a Plus member, it's £12.79.

  18. Out this Thursday! £10.99 Reviews have started coming in for Simogo's new game...and it seems pretty special. Eurogamer - Recommended The Sixth Axis - 10/10 Games Revolution - 4.5/5 Basically, it looks and sounds awesome. And even though it's meant to be short (you can get through the game in an hour, apparently), it's that good that you want to replay it often - kinda like Rez, I guess. I really hope it doesn't get drowned out this week. While it's up against the Goose and Zelda on Switch, it looks like it deserves its own limelight hence me starting this thread.
