  1. Announced at vgas wtf ? Will get trailer and info up as it happens. EDIT- GIFJIZZ TRAILER: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPJaJ5ys_G0
  2. Now I know there's going to be some arguing over whether this is really retro or not but the system came out in 2006... to date there's well over 1000 games (1278 by my Excel count!) and it's reaching PS2 levels of older game releases. So with that in mind I'm getting in early Back in 2006 if we went back 10 years the likes of the SNES, MD, PS1, N64 etc were considered retro (just look at Retro Gamer for the time) so the 360 is getting there. That's my justification anyway! On a few recent trips to indie stores I noticed the market had pretty much bottomed out and looking at the rarer titles in the ordinary cases (not including special editions yet) goes above £50. Most titles are just a few quid with the odd exception, with this in mind I picked up a 360 slim and wireless pad for £60 as well as a nice pile of games: The sock was not included. Now I did do another trip yesterday and picked up about 20 games but I'll snap them another time, for the moment I've just been looking at getting a load of bundles and filling out piles of a collection that way. I've also prepped a few external HD's for full installs and to get the patches whilst they are still available! That's the biggest worry that MS will pull the plug at some point and we will just be left with the standard releases. Fine on most games but on stuff like Bioware titles it'd be a mess. I've compiled what I think is a current list of every PAL title including a list at the bottom of PAL exclusives which has a surprising few. Now this list is up to date as of 27th March but there's bound to be the odd title that will slip out that I'm not aware of. Link I sourced most of it from the official Xbox Achievements website, seeing as every game had them they were listed here so it's double takes as an accurate list. I coudln't find anything more complete so we are stuck with mine. I'm not dabbling in any other countries but I might wander over to some of the Japan releases as I believe there's a fair few decent rare games there (suggestions below!). Will I ever complete this? Who knows.... but with the price of games so low I could get through huge chunks of it without a sweat. Couple of titles I'm really looking forward to are DJ Hero and Guitar Hero with peripherals for example. I know a huge chunk of these will shoot up in price over the next few years (just look at the PS2 and Wii!) so seems the best time. I had a 360 at launch and it was fun to go back to games I bought over 10 years ago and just redownload them. Was playing around with Geometry Wars/Sensible Soccer last night both of which are amazing games (I bought Sensi around 2007!). There's loads of games I just missed, in particular the likes of Kingdoms of Amalur come to mind which still hold up pretty well to this day.
  3. [Edit 16/12/14] Heists have been revealed! Info here: http://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?/topic/274193-gta-online/?p=10175135 Thought we could do with a seperate thread for this now as it's bound to be very popular to say the least! 4. We might hear more about this later today, but definitely at the Ubisoft conference. In the meantime here's some screenshots.

  8. Reckon it's about time this baby had a thread of its own although we won't be seeing it until 2012, deep into that year I suspect given the obvious overlapping of interest with Skyrim. It's being developed by a new studio, 38 Studios, employing the talents of RA Salvatore (Drizzt!), Todd McFarlane and Ken Rolston (Elder Scrolls), and it seems to be an ambitious undertaking but of course competing with some tough opposition. Have no idea at this point in time how deep the lore will be or how extensive / rewarding the open world exploration. Publisher is EA. Gameplay wise it seems to be described as an "Action RPG" but hopfully will have genuine RPG elements. Some hands-on impressions are leaking out from E3 so here are some links to get us started: Official site Hands-on impression from Gamesradar Game preview including video

    Dying Light

From Eurogamer: Resized pics below (full fat ones at the link above): Looks pretty nice. Mirror's Edge was amazing and Dead Island was lovably shonky so I'll be following this one with interest.
  13. According to a demonstration at the Intel Developer Forum, Alan wake will need at least a dual-core PC to run due to it implementing 5 seperate threads for each element of its runtime. It is, of course, a 360 game as well - but the real implication here is that we finally have a practical example of 360 development leading to focused multi-core PC development. Oblivion did this too, but ended up only really running on one core on the PC. I really don't know what to think, though. As a primarily PC-based gamer, I usually find it more comfortable to play console adaptations on my PC (when they come out) than to go buy the console itself, but this is really implying that in order to get the best out of the game, I'd need to drop Gs on a Quad Core processor and a PC to go with it. Only a year ago people laughed if you tried to claim that single core AMDs weren't the only way to go for gaming. Now it turns out they'll be useless for Alan Wake, as well as theoretically anything else developed for multi-core consoles. GRATE.
  14. Another day, another leak. EA uploaded this to Origin by mistake. So (from this extremely scarce information) it looks like it's probably set in a city environment again, but this time he has a bow and arrows! I remember I quite enjoyed Crysis 2, but I find that I can actually recall very little about it apart from a vague memory of it ending on a flying island and thinking that the story went pretty stupid towards the end.

    Vanquish

GTTV will debut the new game on GTTV, which airs on Thursday in the US. So what will it be? Signs point to a game Shinji 'Resi 4/God Hand' Mikami has in development for quite some time now at Platinum Games. It might very well be called 'The Ritualist', a name that was trademarked by Sega some time ago. Should be interesting, as Mikami and Kamija were responsible for most of the Capcom classics last gen. Just a few days left.
  16. Timmo

    Spelunky

This is currently 88 on Metacritic and Eurogamer have given it 10/10. It's also highly replayable so I think it warrants its own thread. It's based on the indie PC game and is essentially a rough cross between Indiana Jones, Mario and a Roguelike. It's out today and I can't wait to play it. I'm thinking of getting a fightpad or one of the new silver pads with the improved D-pad. Can anyone say which is the better option? I'm expecting glowing impressions throughout the day so I can get more excited while I wait for my mum to pick me up. Don't let me down lads.
  17. Don't know if this has been posted already but there is a new Mass Effect in-game video. Have to say it looks very promising... http://masseffect.bi.../downloads.html
  18. About time too. Let's just hope they don't change the dynamic too much but just add loads more baddies. Switchable weapon parts may be good too as opposed to just BAZILLIONS of weapons.

  22. Link Platinum Games, the studio founded by former Capcom developer Clover, has apparently struck a deal with SEGA to publish three games. Those games are: • Bayonetta, directed by DMC creator Hideki Kamiya, and is described by the site’s correspondent as a “stylish action game” with “a witch battling angels”. Apparently she has guns on her feet. • A science-fiction RPG for the DS called Infinite Line, where you play as a starship captain, customising your ship and crew. • A Wii game called MadWorld. ...it’s, “Black and white Sin City graphics, with red blood. Ultra ultra violent. Fatality moves like shoving a post through someone’s head. Chainsaw on your right arm.” Was a rumour but this trailer for MadWorld here: Here Edit: Trailer for Bayonette: here Looks official, is this a seprate company to 'Seeds' then, founded by other members? or Platinum Games what Seed grew into?
