  1. Just had a really nice session on the ‘official’ Gr.4 Brands Hatch TT, managed to knock nearly 1 second off my pad time. Loving the wheel
  2. Yeah, last night really helped. The slower cars, which are horrible to drive on a pad were lots of fun with the wheel. My TT times have also improved this evening, so I’m definitely getting there. I think that my conclusion is that faster or slower, the wheel and pedals feel great to use and are more rewarding to play with.
  3. Yeah, I’m on 5/5 for the FFB settings, so I’ll give that a go. I’m also going to try a smaller fan right next to the intake vent, which is on the left of the base I think.
  4. I’m finding the transition from pad to wheel in GTS quite... challenging. I’m generally finding everything quite understeery and having to be sooooo careful with the throttle compared to the pad. I can’t really get a feel for how much to turn in yet, or when the weight of the car is in the right place / when traction will allow me to accelerate out. I’m even finding understeer in bends that are hardly even corners - out of the hairpin in Suzuka, for example.

Eugh, yeah, non-fill is definitely a modern thing, although a rarer flaw than a warp in my experience.

It doesn’t really matter, but I’d argue that we’re more forgiving of lower quality pressings now. There was point when I just accepted that a flat pressing was the exception rather than the norm.

I’m not a perfectionist either but at least half of the records that I buy have some sort of warp. When I started buying records in the late 80’s that absolutely wasn’t the case. I don’t send them back unless the sound is affected but that doesn’t change the fact that they shouldn’t be warped in the first place.

Absolutely, but there’s also no question that the physical quality of modern pressings is no where near good enough.
  10. Me too. I figure that I just don’t have the peripheral vision available that’d I’d use to pick a braking point in real life.
  11. I’m debating buying a wheel, probably a T150 because I can’t see anywhere with the G29 in stock. At a push I can probably afford a stand too, but I’m just wondering whether anyone just clamps their wheel to a desk? I’m a little concerned that the pedals will be a pain to use without a full seat etc.
  12. Is that an ‘anti consumer’ move? I can’t keep up.

No, don’t think that there are any at all on GP at the moment.

    The BTCC Thread

Yeah perhaps, although it’s a much reduced field this year, presumably due to CV19
