    Incredibles 2

Worth going to see for the beautiful short before the film though.

    Incredibles 2

Have to agree, felt very average. It’s not a bad film but certainly not a worthy follow up to the original. Didn’t get into the ‘Supers’ place in society at all despite it being the plot of the film. There’s no expanding in the heroes past, with the exception of a car that feels like it’s only there for merchandising. The main characters outside the family are incredibly weak and instantly forgettable. It looks great in places but struggles to maintain the restraint needed for the stylistic look and at times when they family aren’t on screen looks like any normal Dreamworks animation.

    2018 FIFA World Cup

I think Kante would walk into any team at this World Cup, I also think Henderson did quite well in the role, especially compared to pre tournament expectation. I agree that he could have used help in the middle at times but it’s such a fine balance between controlling the middle and isolating the front line when you play two defencive/holding midfielders that without hindsight it’s not an easy call to make. If the Dele Ali from Spurs had shown up for this tournament I think it would have made a massive difference, we might have been down to 10 men at times, he was that bad. Considering he was being rumoured as Real Madrid target not too long ago, it’s quite a dramatic fall from grace and can hopefully be explained away by carried injuries, otherwise it could knock him down for quite a while. Trippier, Pickford and Maguire are the England players to come away from this tournament with an unexpected (to me and less devoted footballfans at least) new possible path to stardom. Kane should get the golden boot but I don’t think his quality will come as a surprise to many, you can fluke a season, but he’s been playing at the highest level and putting away big numbers consistently for years now. What was not as expected was his quality as a leader and seemingly calming effect on the team, during the match with his hold up play to bring others in to play but also between play when it was kicking off he always seemed to be the one pulling people away from scuffles and having a word in the ear of some when they needed it.

I think this whole world cup will be as much a learning process and give invaluable experience to the manager as much as the young players, really hope he's in the job for years to come and is left to do things his way.

Mario Tennis Aces - Get Served

Fuck this game, trying to get past Blooper has made me realise how little I actually like this game, The adventure mode is the most rushed unfinished and untested thing Nintendo have put out that I can think of for a while. There are barley any mini games and the ones that are there are puddle deep, the bosses are are shit, and the actual tennis games in between are either pointlessly easy or annoyingly hard because of how cheap the ai is in some of them.

Its been a long time since I could get away with wearing the body condoms that Puma seem to make so I'll give it a miss.

It carrys on the feeling that this England is somehow different to the last few, winning a shotout, especially after going behind. When Henderson's was saved, I got up and went to the kitchen quietly resigned to the fact that losing like this is what you put up with supporting England.

If anyone knows how badly a penaly shootout can go it's Southgate so Im not suprised he seems to be treating them as he is, and stuff like having our keeper get the ball so he can hand it to the taker and not an oposition who may say something off putting can be huge when it all comes down to holding your nerve.

Sterling is so frustrating because he messes up the easy things so badly that anyone that’s ever kicked a ball thinks I could have done better with that, he was in front of the defender inside the box and literally missed the ball when he went to cross. He also keeps trying to score wonder goals with long shots when he is absolutely terrible at it. BUT he does make and find space and pull apart defences with his runs which keeps us on the front foot so there is an argument for him being in the team, especially when Rashford looks bad when ever he starts a game and often amazing as a sub.

Can you imagine how much worse it would be if Rodriguez was on the pitch. We’re there for the taking.

I don’t watch enough football to know but Sterling must be good sometimes surely, I mean he’s a regular in a Pep team, but whenever I see him he is always comically bad.

    Formula One - 2018 Season

Unless I’m missing something that is just a complete lack of strategy, surely common sense says virtual safety car in that lap range and you come in?
