  1. Only played the first ‘mission’ of this, but this is what I picked up on too. I’d just downloaded Outer Wilds again ready for the DLC, and started a new save file, and that game really doesn’t give much away at all. Maybe a location, or a hint, but it’s up to you to plan what you’re doing on the next run, and that’s one of the most fun things about it. There doesn’t seem to be much point in the ‘time loop’ mechanic of the game tells you what to do on each run, I guess?
  2. Enjoyed this up to the last half hour or so, which I found pretty terrible It felt rushed, and tacked on to the rest of the film. I loved the setup and loved where it was going, but it totally ruined it for me.
  3. Started this tonight on PS5, and it’s great so far. But yet again, the HDR implementation is appalling (see also: Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2 on release). The blacks are crushed and there seems to be no HDR calibration settings. Really disappointing that some devs still can’t get their heads around this.
  4. Or £28.74 from InstantGaming: https://www.instant-gaming.com/en/1071-buy-playstation-network-card-35-35-gbp-card-playstation-3-playstation-4-playstation-5-game-playstation-store-united-kingdom/
  5. Possibly. I just won’t play it enough to justify £35 or whatever. It’ll be a game I dip in and out of for 10 minutes at a time.

  7. Oh, wow! Yep, on PS5 here. It’s playable, but a massive comedown after enjoying 60fps on so many other games.
  8. Picked this up in the PSN sale ready for the DLC this month (I played it on Game Pass originally but I don’t have a PC or Xbox anymore). But holy shit, the performance isn’t great Hope it gets a next gen 60fps patch with the DLC
  9. Wouldn’t using the microphone use the SBC codec for most headphones, so the game audio would be awful quality? I remember trying this with my gaming laptop once and the quality was shite. Ended up buying a wired Arctis headset.
  10. Looks utterly bonkers! Love it. Think I’ll wait for a sale though.
  11. A little bit of lag with my AirPods Pro on Super Mario Galaxy, but nothing gamebreaking. Might not fare so well with something else, so probably just judge on a game-by-game basis. Nice feature to have though, especially when it’s the choice between slightly laggy audio which may or may not be a problem, or no audio at all.
  12. Already looking forward to playing Miles Morales again over Christmas.
  13. Such a shame there’s no other way to play Paper Mario 2, as that game was a thing of beauty. The series hasn’t come close to that level ever since.
  14. £129 was just ridiculously good value. I bought one from Game in early 2004 iirc. They had some offer for a GameCube with a couple of shit games for like £150. I overheard the manager telling a couple he’d swap the games for any others, so I asked if I could have it too. I got Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Sonic Heroes, but returned them and got Mario Kart Double Dash and Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes instead. Had so much to catch up on. Wonderful console. Possibly my favourite retro console ever. And that controller.
  15. Oh, might as well pop in to say I’ve been playing Death’s Door using this as I no longer have a PC or Xbox, and it’s been flawless. A little blurry as I’m using the free tier, but I can handle that. Not far behind Stadia for me.
  16. No matter how many times I’ve played this (it’s a lot), I always get lost at some point and forget where to go. That makes it ideal for multiple play throughs, I reckon. It’s also plenty of fun to run (slide) about the castle, so you just don’t mind having a wander.
  17. Oh yeah, totally this. Like, we’re generally all adults here, right?
  18. It’s that trailing leg, on top of Elliot’s leg. He lunges in, traps him under his leg, and there’s no way out for Elliot. That’s a red.
  19. Who cares about some young lad breaking his leg? @Stoppy2000 has proven someone wrong on the Internet and demands our respect.
