Interesting, thanks for the post. Given that 3DS piracy literally downloads the games from Nintendo's own servers, it's nice to see them put proper checks in place.

Perhaps I'm being a little harsh to Kojima, I just wish Sony would fund a more diverse line-up of games for the PS4. I have the fewest physical games for the PS4 compared to all my other consoles.

It received huge amounts of free marketing and hype from the gaming press, purely because of his name. That's all I meant about the risk of his game, other developers would kill for that level of free publicity. He could make a Tetris clone and his legions of fanboys would still buy it and pronounce it the best game ever made.

A Kojima game, robot dinosaurs, and samurai's are creative risks? Not in my opinion.

I personally prefer Gravity Rush 2 to the original and liked the extra control options, but I can understand how some might find the game bloated. The plot does take a lot of twists and turns.

I hope to soon, I was waiting for a price drop. Eager to play Mario Odyssey and the new Kirby.

Gravity Rush 2 is the greatest game on the PS4, not sure how anyone could think it's awful. It's better than Horizon Zero Dawn, Dad of War, and The Last of Us combined.

I bought Puppeteer, and Knack was rubbish.

Most of the classic Sony fun franchises are only receiving remakes rather than new entries though. While Sony still funds a few interesting and creative games, all the attention this E3 was on the violent/mature games. Microsoft spent longer showing Cuphead that Sony did showing off Dreams or Concrete Genie. Gravity Rush 2 is a good example - it's easily the best game on the PS4, yet it was barely shown off at a previous E3 and received little marketing upon release, so it sold poorly as a result.

I think the image is referring to how Sony first-party games are now almost entirely targeting a mature audience, rather than fun (though Spider-Man is an exception). An edgy game by Kojima isn't a financial risk, it will sell millions regardless of how bad it might be.

I saw this image posted after E3, and it made me feel sad that Sony takes fewer creative risks these days.

So we'll beat Germany 1-0? Brazil couldn't even beat Switzerland! We're easily the most impressive team in the tournament, I can confidently say it's coming home!

Nintendo are still releasing new variants of the 2DS XL, I like this colour scheme.
  15. Ace Combat 7 wasn't shown at any of the conference's I think, they just realised a new trailer discretely after E3.
