  1. I never get bored of the tracks in this, compared to most racers. Recently went back to it to play Bikes for the first time and after some initial issues getting used to the handling, it feel into place and I loved being back.

    Edge #327 | Nintendo

So the calender is not a free gift then as such...seems a very random thing for Future to do.

    Is "Game" finished?

The store I worked in stopped taking last gen years ago as a store decision. Surprised some were taking worthless titles so long after but so much of it will be dead stock just cluttering up stockrooms. Vita and Wii U trades were always pitiful too but surprised since some have higher value and take up a very small amount of space.

    Goodbye Games TM (and Gamesmaster)

What an idiot. £8.99 a quarter haha.

    Goodbye Games TM (and Gamesmaster)

My direct debit is £8.99 a month and has been for about five years or more. Do they just forget about these and make a loss?

    Goodbye Games TM (and Gamesmaster)

The writing was on the wall for GamesTM when Future took over. The countless 'lists' every other issues too was a dramatic drop in quality and a last ditch attempt at some sales.

    Forza Horizon 4 - Open-UK Racing

The Cosworth is so much fun in the snow. Everytime I get in a super car, they feel shit in comparison.

    Forza Horizon 4 - Open-UK Racing

Really enjoying this, considering I barely touched Horizon 2 and 3. I think a two week trail of Game Pass has helped as I feel the need to play it more than usual. I have to say though I've only driven one car really which is the classic Ford Escort Cosworth. It is such a beast of a car on and off road that I can't deal with any other cars (seems counter-productive with so many in the game). One of the things that bugs me on the realism aspect is that they didn't bother to use the official Transport font on the signage and the motorway looks weird. But the whole seasons aspect adds so much variation and I'm really enjoying the snowy setup especially for off-roading in. I presume the Forth Road bridge section on the map will unlock in an expansion at some point?

Edge #325 - Settle your scores here ;)

In other news, £6 an issue now! Glad I only pay £8.99 a quarter.

    Spider-Man PS4 - Insomniac swings into action!

Big marketing push on this, apparently our big Tesco has put up external POS and decorated the front of the shop.

    PlayStation 5

My only wish next-gen is cross play online on all formats. I'm the only non PC gamer amongst my friends now but don't want the hassle of PC but I miss the social nature of online gaming.

    The Crew 2

If anyone has a spare PS4 code, I'd be interested. Signed up but not had anything. Unusual as last game I had beta access and previously beta access to Test Drive games.

    Gaming Magazines

GamesTM is trash now with 'list' articles and covers inspired by Gamesmaster. It has rapidly gone downhill in the last couple of years since Future bought them. I suspect the intention is to run it into the ground though it does sell more than Edge. I still love Edge dropping each month, it feels different to any other magazine and it can be pretentious but in recent years seems to have toned that down a bit.

WH Smith in Hanley moved from a massive premises with the post office inside to a smaller store. Ironically it moved from one side of GAME to the other side. Since it moved, most tills were replaced by self-service (fine as they were as slow as anything in there) and the magazines have shrunk to a tiny corner where you can't read properly as people have to push past behind you. It sells lots of American sweets which you can buy in B&M for half the price too and they still managed to a fit a post office in the smaller store. The book section is pitiful.

    Is "Game" finished?

My old manager was in charge of the 'super-sonic' rollout. I believe it was quite jarring for the smaller stores who didn't have that corporate feel. As I came from the huge Potteries store, it was always a corporate feel/look.
