  1. Nintendo Switch

So have Nintendo abandoned the idea of charging for online? I swear they said by January this year the fee would be in place.

Is there any point me holding on to all these gems? I have loads of Amber, Ruby, sapphire etc. and I thought at some point there may be a blacksmith or something that can upgrade weapons, or are the gems purely for selling purposes?

Thanks for the help people. I've just realised (in my stupidity) that Fastone Image Viewer was loading up the embedded low quality JPEG version of the original RAW picture, which was about 1/10 the image quality. I've just found the option in the settings to view the original RAW image and it seems much more comparable to the Nikon now. It does still seem like Fastone applies it's own calibration when loading up certain images though. When I load the same pictures with the official Sony viewer the colours and lighting come out slightly different. So as nice as Fastone is to use as software, if I want to edit the photo maybe I should just use the official SONY program, considering I don't have ADOBE software?

Don't know if anyone can help me here. I've been taking a few shots recently with my old Sony a200 and have noticed a lot of my shots are coming out slightly blurry. I have compared it with my dad's Nikon D40 and even with all settings the same and using auto focus the Sony always comes out blurry for some reason. Here are two comparison shots (you may have to click through and view the pear up close to see the blurriness): EDIT: Removed photos, problem solved. Is this likely to be the Nikon sensor and lense being better than the Sony?

A few late evening shots taken last night by me. I bought a photography book a few weeks back so still learning how everything works (hyperfocal distance seems like trial and error). Evening Motorway by Malcolm Johnson, on Flickr Traffic Bridge by Malcolm Johnson, on Flickr

Anyone know if kingdom:new lands is any good? The pixel art looks amazing in the eshop video and screenshots.
  9. Sonic Mania

Ah! Thanks guys. I completely forgot about that ability in sonic 3. That may come in handy for the mania mode, but I do like the spin dash for time attack speedrunning.

Can anyone tell me the 2nd unlockable ability you get after the cd spin dash? i unlocked something related to S&K about a shield defense or something, but I clicked the A button too quick as I was exiting to read it.

Thanks, Just downloaded it and it seems excellent. Just as many editing features as the official SONY editor and loaded my RAW images up instantly with no fuss.

I'm using the standard kit lense that came with my camera, which says 3.5-5.6/18-70mm. Unfortunately I've just looked at all my RAW files I took the other night and realised they are all at the 5.6 setting. After googling it I've realised the camera wont let you go to f3.5 unless your fully zoomed out at 18mm. I must have been slightly zoomed in, and that's why I couldn't make the aperature any bigger. Maybe f3.5 would have given me more light to play with...

I notice on your FlickR it says you took those at ISO 400 and 800. I went out the other day and couldn't capture anywhere near that amount of stars at ISO 800. I tried bumping the ISO up to 1600 and 3200 but there is far too much noise when I go that high. Did you photoshop them to bring out all the detail?
  14. Photography Equipment & Software Thread

I went and downloaded the image editing software from Sony's website and it seems to be showing me the images properly now. The editing abilities are probably a bit limited, but I'm too tight to pay for Lightroom or Photoshop, especially as an amateur. Guess I now need to learn how to 'photoshop' images properly.

Very Nice, is that some red Milky Way dust clouds in the centre? Not sure if I can even capture that dust from where I live in Surrey due to the light pollution.
